What Can Mello Do for Me?
Mello Sales Group supports manufacturers business growth in several ways.
First and most importantly, contacts. For over 20 years we have developed
and nurtured relationships at all levels of the pet industry. Distributors,
stores, breeders, etc. have come to know Mello Sales Group and our
reputation. Simply stated, manufacturers will increase their chances of
product placement with distributors and retailers if they have had successful
partnerships with us in the past. They trust that we will only present
companies that we have looked into and endorse.
When a distributor takes on one of our lines, they know that we will do our
best to ensure the success of the partnership. We do this by "coaching" the
manufacturer so they are aware of any nuances the distributor or retailer may
have. We oversee the initial stocking order to make sure it adequately offers
enough product to cover orders, while not bringing in too much and tying up
essential cash flow. We will ride along with distributor representatives,
giving them time to write their orders while we pitch new products to the
stores and increase the distributors ring. We work with the reps to get them
the tools and education they need throughout the year to build business.
On a store level we personally see each major store every 3 weeks. We write
orders in the stores and turn them over to the distributors for processing.
We help to merchandise the shelves, make placement recommendations and show
new items. Mello Sales will educate the retail store's staff either in a
formal meeting or by coming in and addressing the employees during different
shifts. Additionally, we publish a full color monthly flyer that goes to each
store we call on.
We attend Distributor Open Houses, Sales Meetings, Education Seminars,
etc. and offer needed support to fit the event. We work Industry Trade
Shows such as Backer, SuperZoo, Global Pet Expo and others by setting
appointments with distributors and retailers to meet with manufacturers at
their booths.
We offer a headquarter office with customer service available between 9-5
weekdays to answer questions. This person often will organize distributor
open houses, aid in routing orders, and assist all field representatives.
We act as your "agent" in fulfilling your sales expectations and forging
productive business relationships, freeing you to manage your business
and develop new products. We communicate with you the needs of the customers
as they are presented to us as well as noticeable market trends, keeping you
on the cutting edge of your business.
